The Associated Press

The Associated Press is used for national stories. The AP will release a bulletin first, which is either a one sentence note that something is about to be released, or a one sentence news item. An alert will follow, which may be a few sentences and more information.

Late-breaking news broadcasts over radio networks

Late-breaking news, also known as a special report or news flash, is a current issue that broadcasters feel warrants the interruption of scheduled programming or current news in order to report its details. The most significant story of the moment is assigned to its use. It could be a story that is simply of interest to viewers and has little impact.

The news organization has already reported on the story and breaking news is often used after that. The phrase "Just In" is sometimes used when a story has not been reported before. The network or local station may choose to show a live shot of the anchor cut away to video or images of the story that is being followed during the broadcast if they so choose.

The coverage may be passed to a reporter at the location of the breaking event, which could give more information about the story as it breaks. National news broadcasts over a radio network requires constant monitoring by station employees to allow the coverage to air, although many stations will take the 'urgent' signal sent by the network and break into programming immediately. Continuous coverage from a national radio network depends on the severity of the event, and often the network will just pass down the coverage by their local affiliates with spare commentary by the network's anchors.

News Broadcasting

News broadcasting is the medium of broadcasting news events and other information via television, radio, or internet. The content is usually produced in a radio studio or television studio newsroom. It may include material that the broadcaster feels is relevant to their audience, such as sports coverage, weather forecasts, traffic reports, political commentary, expert opinions, editorial content, and other material.

What is News and what Is Not

What is news and what is not news? How do they decide between a big news story and a small one? They do it the same way as everyone else.

Everyone makes the same judgments when they talk about one event over another. The same event can have different levels of interest in different societies. If a wall collapses, killing a cow and pig, which is more important?

The answer will vary from society to society, depending on the importance of cows and pigs. It cannot be news if it is not new. The assassination of Mrs Gandhi is interesting and significant, but it cannot be reported in tomorrow's papers because it is not new.

Things are happening all the time, but not all of them are news. A man wakes up, eats breakfast and goes to work on a bus, but nobody wants to read about it because it is not unusual. Ordinary and everyday things are not news.

Events which are new and unusual are not of general interest. Scientists may say that an insect has just been found on a plant that it had never been to before. The event is unusual but not likely to interest anyone other than a specialist or enthusiast.

The Reverse-Flash Revisited

Barry Allen traveled back in time to save his mother from being murdered by the Reverse-Flash, which is the big twist for those who don't know.

Serenity: The Fourth and Final Phase of the SU(2) SUSY-Bose Project

The fourth and final phase of the project is called "Serenity". The Proof Stake will be the new method of payment for the network and various solutions such as Plasma and Sharding will be implemented to make the network more efficient.

Chemical separation using flash column chromatography

Chemical separation using flash column chromatography is done by using chemical mixture. It is also known as flash purification, because of its function as a purification method. It is sometimes referred to as medium pressure chromatography.

The method of flash chromatography is very fast. The technique combines medium pressure and shorter column chromatography with air pressure to speed up the process and get the compounds in a shorter time frame. Clark Still of Columbia University adopted the method as an alternative to gravity-fed chromatography, which is often slow and inefficient.

The newer version of flash column chromatography uses pressurized gas to move the solvent through the stationary phase. The compounds interact with the stationary phase based on their charge, adsorption, and relative solubility. The time between injection and detection is known as the retention, and is the measurable speed at which a substance passes through the chromatographic system.

There are many uses of flash column chromatography, from forensic pathology to crime scene testing to food pathology. Drug discovery is one of the most popular uses of the technique. Scientists in several disciplines can extract compounds from mixtures using flash column chromatography, a method that has established itself as an effective and reliable purification method.
