The science of the world

All the sciences are considered an integrated discipline by good sports science courses. You would consider the movement's dynamics, but also the psychological and physiological requirements. Most advanced sports teams have the full spectrum of sports scientists working together to support them, because none of the disciplines can provide the best solution to a problem in isolation.

Health promotion and primary prevention of disease are related to the scientific and philosophical bases of kinesiological concepts. Health promotion students learn how to evaluate and assess health promotion behavior among diverse populations and in various health promotion settings, as well as sound communication and critical thinking skills, and an understanding of the legal principles and ethical behaviors of those who are professionals in the sport and exercise industry. Students gain experience in various settings throughout the River Region.

Warming up your muscles

Sport science applies the study of science to sporting activities. Sport science focuses on helping to maximize performance and endurance in preparation for events and competitions while decreasing the risk of injury. Sports scientists are trained to help sports people achieve their best performance.

They evaluate, research, assess and advise on all aspects of sport. Your muscles need to be stretched before and after a workout. Stretching needs to be done correctly.

Stretching that is not effective can cause damage. Warming up prepares your body for exercise. A warm-up increases your heart rate.

Winning in Sport

Winning can be determined by physical events such as crossing a line first or scoring goals, or by the determination of judges who are scoring elements of the sporting performance, including objective or subjective measures.

External rewards include money, medals, and social recognition. Intrinsic motivators can be found within, such as a personal desire to win or a sense of pride. Sports psychology helps athletes recover from injuries and return to their sport.
